ARLETTE ROWE - About Us

As an ex-professional dancer, I trained in ballet and theatre dance at the Silver Ribbons Dance School in West Sussex before training full time in London at the Andrew Hardie School of Dance. The final year of training was at the partner school Biddy Pinchard School of Dance. The first audition landed a job at the Moulin Rouge in Paris! Then successfully auditioned and worked for two dance agencies dancing for various contracts ranging from modeling through to Pop Videos - including a stint working as a robot for a year with Andy Sinclair (the original Volvo Dummy from the Volvo Adverts)!! In between training and dancing contracts teaching ballet and modern jazz.

Argentine Tango took my breath away whilst watching Vincent and Flavia on Strictly Come Dancing. It was like a 'calling' - it was beautiful, mesmerizing, passionate and in terms of dancing itself, had everything I love about dancing, it's moody, strong, clean, sharply defined almost 'cat-like' shapes were so appealing. Flavio de Brito's class was traced through the BBCs website and the rest, as they say, is history. Never looked back and am now proud and privileged to be a part of Flavio's Escuela de Tango, Tanguera Dance Company performing Argentine Tango.

Why Shoes...?
One does need a decent pair of shoes, particularly as one improves you need a more substantial shoe capable of allowing you the freedom to be fully expressive whilst offering you the best possible balance and security.

Finding a shop to buy the first pair of shoes can prove difficult. Everybody seems to have trouble finding Argentinean Tango shoe suppliers. Finding nothing available locally I decided to offer the shoes myself with an online service, and being available with shoes at classes, workshops and milongas, plus crucially, providing a base for people to come and try on the shoes here in West Sussex any day of the week with no obligation to buy or take part in any classes.
